Addressing Intergenerational Grief and Trauma in our Families, Schools, and Workplace
October 8th & 9th
Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn
Rapid City, SD 57701
Every circle, whether it be our family, school or workplace, has great potential for wellness but can be impacted by the effects of trauma, grief and loss. This limits the potential of our children and adults, magnifies conflict within families and the workplace; it also contributes to a culture of miscommunica-tion, resentment, stress that can be passed to the next generation. How can we strengthen ourselves, our children, families, schools and workplace and create a culture of wellness and peace?
Tiospaye Sakowin Education and Healing Center presents a healing circle training opportunity on October 8th and 9th, 2015 on addressing inter-generational grief and loss in Native families, schools and workplace called, “Wicozani Ki Unkiye Etan Pi Kte”.
This venue will provide Native specific training and healing opportunities to learn about how unresolved grief/trauma can be passed from one generation to another and provide participants with information on ways to address it. During these sessions, gender specific training topics presented as well as an opportunity to collaborate as relatives in planning for the future wellness of our youth, families, communities, schools and workplace.
